Proceeds from the game go to charities that support various noble causes
The Kolkata Knight Riders host the much–‐awaited Knight Golf event annually during IPL season. Currently in its 4th year, the popular event has become a KKR tradition where the team management, players and our supporters enjoy a day of golf and the proceeds are donated to charities. Held this year at the Tolly Club, the charity golfing event saw the likes of Head Coach Jacques Kallis, Assistant coach Simon Katich and Venky Mysore kick–‐start the event. Others present who enjoyed a round of golf on a sunny day were, Tom Curran, Cameron Delport, Mitchell Johnson, Heath Streak, Andrew Leipus, Adrian Le Roux and KKR co–‐owner Jay Mehta. Mr. Venky Mysore, MD & CEO–‐KKR, said, “Knight Golf has become an integral part of what we do every year. Apart from connecting with the society and the city through the charity golf event, we have managed to raise money and donate to worthwhile causes over the last four years. Our players, support staff and sponsors have readily extended support us to make this event a success”. The players and management who participated in the putting championship ere, Robin Uthappa, Dinesh Karthik, Kuldeep Yadav, Shivam Mavi, Rinku Singh, Apoorv Wankhade, Derek Sedgman and Joydeep Mukherjee. Jacques Kallis, Head Coach KKR and a golfing enthusiast, said, “It’s a wonderful initiative by the Knights and always nice to give ack to the community by contributing to the charities”. The prize distribution ceremony was graced by KKR Co–‐owner Juhi Chawla Mehta and Mr. Venky Mysore who called upon the winners for the evening and awarded them. The tournament played in the Texas Scramble format was won by the team of Jay Mehta, co–‐ owner–‐KKR and the runner’s up was bagged by Tom Curran’s team. Kuldeep Yadav was the winner of the putting championship and Robin Uthappa bagged the Longest Iron Competition.
