The IGU is committed to promoting more women’s participation and their development in golf by signing the R&A Women in Golf Charter which aims to provide awareness of sport & career options for women. Recognizing the need for a fundamental cultural shift, the charter aims to encourage golf industry bodies across the world to enable women to grow, get quality coaching, have women-friendly amenities and create player development programs.
“The Charter is a strong statement of intent from the golf industry that it has to change and a commitment on behalf of all of us to take measures designed to achieve positive change for women, girls and families. This is crucial to growing participation in the sport in the years ahead,” said Martin Slumbers, CEO of The R&A.
