Young Indian golfer Yuvraj Singh Sandhu has cemented his place in golfing history. By finishing in the top 10 of the prestigious Asian Development Tour (ADT) Order of Merit, he has secured an Asian Tour card for 2024, a first for Indian golfers.

Sandhu’s achievement is even more impressive considering he participated in only 6 of the 12 scheduled ADT tournaments. This underscores his remarkable talent and ability to perform under pressure, earning him a coveted spot among the top 10 players who received full playing rights on the Asian Tour.

Yuvraj’s journey to this milestone was paved with consistent performance and unwavering dedication. Throughout 2023, he participated in numerous tournaments across various tours, including the DP World Tour (including the Final Stage of Qualifying School for 2023), European Challenge Tour, Asian Tour, ADT, and Professional Golf Tour of India. This dedication culminated in his maiden international victory at the BNI Ciputra Golfpreneur Tournament in Indonesia, where he set a new tournament record with a score of 23 under par.

While playing on the ADT was instrumental in securing his Asian Tour card, Sandhu’s approach was multifaceted. He strategically balanced his schedule across various tours, gaining valuable experience and maintaining his eligibility for the Tata Steel Tour Championship scheduled for December 21-24, 2023. Prior to that, he will once again test himself against the best players from various tours, including Japanese, Korean, Sunshine, Australian, and the Asian Tour, in the Saudi Open presented by the Public Investment Fund. This strategic approach demonstrates Sandhu’s intelligence and adaptability as a player.

Looking ahead to the 2024 season, Sandhu’s sights are firmly set on the Asian Tour. However, his ambitions extend beyond this prestigious circuit. He aims to participate in select European Tour events and challenge himself in the British Open and US Open qualifiers. In doing so, he eagerly anticipates earning a spot in the 2024 Paris Olympics.
